Thailand SCG plans to expand the MMA production capacity to 190000 tons

it is reported that Mitsubishi synthetic fiber of Japan plans to expand the methyl methacrylate (MMA) production capacity of Thailand methyl methacrylate (Thai MMA), a joint venture with Thailand Siam Cement Group (SCG), to 190000 tons/year by debottlenecking and product strategic transformation at the end of next year. At present, the company operates two sets of MMA units in matafu Industrial Zone in eastern Thailand, Respectively, one set of capacity is 85000 tons/year; 2. The demand of plastic materials (high molecular materials) for experimental machines: two sets of capacity is 90000 tons/year. This expansion will mainly meet the growing demand for MMA products in the coating and automotive industries of Thailand and Southeast Asian countries
